Project 360 - PLC
The PLC
I decided to go with a PLC (programmable logic controller) to automate this system. The PLC I chose is an Allen Bradley Micrologix 1500. It has 16 discrete inputs and 12 outputs (all 24 vdc) which will handle all of the level sensors, and an analog card that has 4 inputs that will handle temperature, ph, and conductivity (salinity). I actually need to add some more discrete output I’m currently a little short to run all of the devices that I’d like to. Luckily eBay is a great place to pick up these components when you’re on a budget!
